Ricordi

The history of Ricordi is an entrepreneurial odyssey closely intertwined with the past 200 years of Italian history itself, be it musical and cultural or social and economic in nature. From the company's modest origins as a small Milanese music press and copying shop, Ricordi grew to international proportions with affiliates located around the world, thanks to the solid artistic and business sense of the original family dynasty and the managers who would follow them.

This dynamic expansion, which was temporarily interrupted only by the events of World War II, did much to disseminate and promote Italian music on a worldwide basis as well. Casa Ricordi has therefore had a truly fundamental role in the history of Italian music art.
