Young composers from Casa Ricordi chosen for the Venice Biennial Exhibition
Casale, Lanza and Colasanti chosen for the Venice Biennial Exhibition
As part of the “Made in Italy” project, the Biennale Musica has commissioned three new works from young composers published by Casa Ricordi for October 6th and 7th, 2007.
The three musicians are:
Emanuele Casale, who will present “Esistere arco, nulla e un tempo” for ensemble, a piece that continues the musician’s search that began with the composition “L’essenzialismo sonoro dal profilo gentile” in the attempt to create a sort of poetic touch and highlight both the musical detail and the linguistic transparency of his work. The composition, played by the Icarus Ensemble and directed by Maestro Erasmo Gaudiomonte, is dedicated to a place that no longer exists, “killed by uncontrolled cementification”.
Mauro Lanza, whose piece for ensemble “Sol”, played by the Divertimento Ensemble, under the direction of Maestro Sandro Gorli, will be heard on October 7, 2007.
Silvia Colasanti, whose “Ahi!, vista troppo dolce e troppo amara (Orfeo nel buio)” will be presented during the same concert. The main theme of this work is the look of love and death that Orpheus gives to Eurydice, whose soul is represented by the sound of a bass clarinet located behind the audience.
